Yes, spring is here - at least in the pages of author/illustrator Will Hillenbrand’s delightful story. For many of us spring is preceded by pleasant weather, sprouting daffodils and budding trees. However, Mole woke up one morning to see that this happy season had actually arrived, and he decided that he must tell Bear.
As we know bears hibernate for the cold months, and I assume they sleep quite soundly so how is Mole to awaken Bear? That’s where the fun begins in SPRING IS HERE as Mole tries all manner of ways to rouse his sleeping friend. Unfortunately, each attempt is met with a resounding snore.
Hillenbrand’s mixed media full-page illustrations are both whimsical and sunny. Youngsters will chuckle at the surprise ending after Mole devises what he considers to be the perfect plan for waking up Bear. Perfect for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
