GODDESS OF VENGEANCE AUDIO - JACKIE COLLINS

When is an audio book so very, very much more than another audio book?  When it’s read by Jackie Collins, Sidney Poitier and a cast of can’t-stop-listening-to characters.  Of course, Collins’s inimitable voice is the headliner but blended with Poitier’s rich, deep voice - well, folks, that’s topnotch listening.

Goddess Of Vengeance is a typical Collins book, which is precisely why you bought it.  You know you’ll be checking out of reality for a few hours with mega doses of passion, rich folks up to tricks only the wealthy can afford, and cannot-believe-she-did-that moments.

With her 27th book (which is No. 1 in the UK) Collins brings back Lucky Santiago (you may have met her in Chances, 1981).  She running The Keys, a ritzy hotel/casino in Las Vegas.  Her handsome movie star husband, Lennie, is still the hit of Hollywood; daughter, Max, is as gorgeous as her mom and like her in many other ways as well; son, Bobby, who runs a handful of clubs.

Well who wouldn’t want to own The Keys?  Most just dream about it but Armand, an affluent real estate tycoon means to have it.  Being from a Middle Eastern country he can’t imagine that (1) a woman owns The Keys (2) that she wouldn’t immediately do what he asked.  Gloves are off in this fight!

Like mother like offspring: Max is about to share the sheets with a young movie star; Bobby is involved with questionable Russian investors.  Never a dull page in a Collins story!

    Enjoy.
