50 Simple Soups for the Slow Cooker

Have to admit that I’m inordinately fond of subject cookbooks - that is a cookbook focusing on a specific dish such as a dessert cookbook, a salad cookbook or as in this case a soup cookbook.  I really like the idea of not having to pore through my cookbook collection if I’m looking for a chicken or vegetable dish, but love to have one book to which I can immediately turn.  So, when I saw this soup collection I was delighted and then near cheering when I noted that all the soups are prepared in slow cookers.  Many thanks to Lynn Alley for these tempting recipes all in one book!

50 Simple Soups for the Slow Cooker is full of not only recipes but also helpful hints to make preparation easier and quicker - aren’t we all on speed dial at mealtime?  These are vegetarian/vegan recipes and as tasty as they come!  How about Sliced Apple Pie Soup brimming with Granny Smith apples and flavored with cinnamon, cloves and honey?  Yes, cool weather is almost upon us, and nothing tastes better on a chilly day than a warm bowl of soup.

It’s impossible to pick a favorite from this tasty assortment but do have to give a high five to the Black Bean Chili with Cornbread Crust and the Enchilada Soup.

The book is spiral bound so that it lies flat and the pages are glossy, easily wiped in case there’s a drip or two.

So happy to add this book to my collection!
