In The Indian Night Sky

There’s a new brand on the block, and it’s Hathi Chiti.  (Hathi , the elephant, and Chiti, the ant, are characters in Indian folklore).  Endorsed by Sesame Street creator Christopher Cerf this is a topnotch children’s brand with a worthy goal  - to enlighten young ones about different cultures throughout our world   Hathi Chiti uses eastern themed characters and concepts in global picture books that are not only enlightening but thoroughly enjoyable.  Case in point: In The Indian Night Sky.

Illustrated with vibrant imagination and eye-popping colors this is the story of a night in India when high in the sky the Sun, Moon and Wind were anticipating a celebration.  “A great feast was being prepared by their cousins, Thunder and Lightning, to celebrate the coming of the Rains.”

When Sun, Moon and Wind told their mother, Star of the North Sky, about the feast, she said she would stay behind and light a path to the celebration for them.  However, she did ask each of them to bring her something from the great feast.

Youngsters will be surprised, intrigued, and learn valuable lessons when they learn what happens at the feast.  Geared for youngsters ages 3 and up the Hathi Chiti stories are a delightful way to broaden a young ones concept of our world.  Books and character all come with matching T-shirts plus free downloads of an arts & crafts activity are available at HathiChiti.com.

    Highly recommended.
