Both Of Us Audio Edition
One of the most talked about, photographed and dissected love affairs in Hollywood is the stuff of a reel story, but it becomes a touchingly real story when related by Ryan O’Neal. Tabloids blared headlines and flashbulbs popped when the impossibly beautiful Farrah Fawcett left husband Lee Majors for Ryan O’Neal. What followed was some 30 years of passion, joy, disappointment and sorrow. But ultimately, according to O’Neal, what remains is undying love.
He overlooks little in this intimate, candid story of one of film land’s most storied romances. It is said that this is the first time O’Neal has decided to set the record straight and he does so unsparingly. He begins with the first time he set eyes on the fabled star of Charlie’s Angels when he immediately caught a case of “Farrah fever” and then sheds light on her marriage to Majors.
Following their initial meeting and as the attraction grew he is the first to say that trouble with his daughter, Tatum, began as she started to feel abandoned. He shares Farrah’s thought about his exes - wives and girlfriends as well as his reputation. Details of Farrah’s various medical maladies are discussed and what he describes as the worst night of his life - when she found him with a younger woman.
Most know that after years the couple reconciled with hope for a future together until Farrah was felled by cancer. He stayed by her side throughout this ordeal. Finally, as if this were not heartbreak enough while doing research for this book he found a note Farrah had written in his journal some 14 years ago.
An emotional retelling of their last goodbye may bring tears, but he firmly believes they will be together again.
