JACK AND JILL by Salina Yoon

Youngsters enjoy hearing a familiar nursery rhyme over and over again.  So, they will immediately respond to this Halloween nursery rhyme but be surprised and happy with an unexpected ending.

Also enjoyed by young ones are books they can call their own, ones they don’t have to “be careful” with.  This 6 by 6 inch sturdy board book will withstand many a page turning and even some tossing about (it can happen!).  Seriously, it’s very well constructed and brightly illustrated with the requisite jack-o-lanterns, owls and bats.

Our rhyme begins traditionally enough with “Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.”  However, it changes quite a bit after Jack takes that tumble.  Youngsters will be very happy with the new twist at the end of the rhyme.

    Suggested for ages 2 - 4.  Enjoy!
