Kristin Hannah Delivers Another Story of Family and Forgiveness

An accomplished voice performer Kathleen McInerney has narrated stories by numerous authors from Judy Blume to Danielle Steel.    With stage experience in both classical and contemporary theater her voice is well modulated and precise.  We especially appreciated the directness of her delivery in NIGHT ROAD as she never gave way to drama during the rather lengthy descriptions of pathos.

We’ve often heard that opposites attract and this proves to be true in Hannah’s tear producing tale.  Jude Farraday has a better than good life.  Her husband, Miles, is a successful surgeon, and she’s the proud mother of 14-year-old twins, Mia and Zach.  The twins receive the lion’s share of Jude’s attention.  She loves them dearly and absolutely dotes on them.

On the other hand, another 14-year-old, Lexi, hasn’t enjoyed being doted upon by anyone.  Due to her mother’s addiction she’s lived in seven foster homes and is now going to live with a relative she barely knows in an island community in the Pacific Northwest - where the Farraday’s live.

Zach is outgoing, popular, and has many friends.  Mia has always been rather left out of things until she finds a friend in Lexi.  The Farradays are delighted that Mia has found a friend and welcome Lexi into their home.  As Hannah’s stories will have it, Zach eventually falls in love with Lexi.

Before too long it’s tissue time because the unthinkable happens, a tragedy which affects and changes the lives of all.
